No 2/2009: Gender and climate change Men drive cars and fly more than women, who tend to use public transport. Poor women in developing countries are those hardest
hit by climate change. The focus in encountering climate change has often been on technical development and research within
the sciences. This is undoubtedly necessary, but yet not enough. More research and focus are also needed on both how people
are affected by climate change and how they can contribute to stopping it. NIKK magasin 2.2009 puts focus on gender equality
and climate change.

No 1/2009: Prostitution and Leadership Berit Ås from Norway is best known for her theory on the five master suppression techniques. She developed the theory in order
to be able to explain to other women why they are so often rendered invisible and not taken seriously by men in positions
of power. Master suppression techniques are part of the body language and can only be countered by being pointed out. In management
issues master suppression techniques are constantly topical – not least when it comes to women in leading positions. This
issue of NIKK magasin highlights the difference between the situation within politics and in business.

No 2/2007: Gender and Parenthood Fathers must take a greater responsibility for their children and homes. This seems to be the agenda for the gender equality
politics of all the Nordic governments. The aim, however, varies, as do the methods. Should incentives or punishment be used?
In this issue of NIKK magasin we present the Norwegian government’s work on the world’s first proposition concerning men and gender equality. Furthermore
researchers at the Swedish National Defence College write about their work on mainstreaming a gender perspective into the
Nordic Battlegroup, and four articles in this issue direct a critical gaze at how gender is expressed in religious texts and
practices.

No. 3/2004: Sexualization of Public Space The main topic of this issue of NIKK magasin is the phenomenon of sexualisation of public space. The leading article explores
the background and commission of the research project "Youth, Gender and Pornography in the Nordic countries" and is written
by the project's managers. Another contributor to the project, turns the perspective of sexualisation and representation around
in the article "Mirrored masculinity". Several articles in this issue address the theme of masculinity; investigating both
the law's handling of father's violence and problematisation of masculinity in literature. Also, we take a closer look at
the crucial role of internationality in women's movements, as well as examining why gender mainstreaming has become a part
on UN’s agenda on peace.
