Norwegian politics still male-dominated

Women make up 39 per cent of the newly elected Norwegian parliament. The number of female parliamentary representatives has thus increased from 64 to 66. This means that it is now no longer Norway but Denmark which lags behind the other Nordic countries. Read more

New research centre in Iceland
A new "Centre of Excellence" at the University of Iceland will conduct research within Equality and Diversity Studies. The aim is to develop the famous Icelandic gender equality model. Read more

Now Finland, too, will get an Information Centre for Gender Equality. The Finnish Parliament decided on 19 December 2008 that an information service is to be created during 2009. Read more
