New Nordic webpage about gender equality and climate change

A new webpage – Equal Climate - Gender and Climate Change from a Nordic perspective– was launched on 1st November 2011 in Copenhagen.

The webpage highlights the relationship between gender and climate change and has a Nordic focus. It aims to show how climate mitigation and adaptation strategies and efforts can be strengthened by including a gender perspective into planning, implementation and evaluation work.

The webpage disseminates information about the linkages between energy, consumption, food, transport and gender. It also contains information about the activities of all the Nordic countries as well as the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland. The webpage furthermore portrays best practices of Nordic NGOs and companies and highlights tools and examples all individuals can use.

The webpage has been created by the Finnish presidency in the gender equality sector in the Nordic Council of Ministers, in cooperation with the Nordic Gender Institute (NIKK).
