Between 2006-2010 Gender and Power was one of the main topics that the Nordic Council of Ministers focused on. The Nordic Gender Equality Ministers decided to carry out a project on gender and power in the Nordic countries. The project was realised by NIKK and a broad-based Nordic research group in 2008–2009. The purpose of the project was to produce knowledge to support the political decision-making process and to emphasise gender equality measures that influence the mechanisms behind structural power. The work resulted in the report Gender and Power in the Nordic Countries – with focus on politics and business, published 2011. You can also read articles about the topic in NIKK magasin 1/2009, She still rules.
